I recently told my dad that I wanted a new table for the classroom so that all the children could sit together. This weekend, we spent building one. My father is the most talented man I have ever met. He helped me create this school and I can spring any idea on him and he will help me make it come alive. I asked for a table and I got a masterpiece.
What will become the top of the table. Eucalyptus and Oak
Making it smooth
Measure twice, cut once
Old fashioned paper
Detail on the legs
Detail on the top
Almost ready to take home
The most perfect table for our space.
Thank you everyone who helped! Thank you Dad, Alec and Nick.
Transitioning into Fall has been pretty easy. Living on the coast of California our best weather months are September and October. Yes, we feel very lucky.
The school has also been in transition. We have a few new students and a mini pot belly pig, Patsy Swine.
She has been sharing residency between the kitchen and the classroom. We discovered she loves apples and can be a bit impatient when being fed. She loves to eat, what can I say.
Since we have officially said goodbye to the summer season, here are a few of my favorite shots…
Friendship has played a big role in the daily life here
Learning about the forest and the animals that live there
Keeping the garden healthy
Playing on the new hay fort
Ruby checking out the playhouse
A teddy bear picnic with all of our friends.
Happy Fall everyone!
This month has been magical. We have discovered so much of Mother Earth and her offerings. We have used all our senses to explore our surroundings. We planted more carrots, beans and sunflowers. We have watched them all growing, some towering over us. The children love to play in the yard and dig in the ground. I have washed many dirty faces.
Here is a recap of this past month…
See you in August!
